About us

The founder of TOP TRADUCERI is Elvira Tanasescu, whom we’d like to briefly introduce to you.

She has settled down as a translator (and interpreter), as it is an activity she does out of passion and which she continuously and tirelessly develops. It is an activity that offers us the chance to improve our knowledge in various fields. She is a person with a permanent thirst for learning new things.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

February 2007 – until now:

Since February 2007, she started contacting translation agencies, and collaborating with many of them and directly with clients within Romania and abroad: Belgium, U.S.A., China, Holland, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Hungary. The collaborations developed and were successful. Fields of expertise:

  • technical: user’s manuals for electric and electronic appliances, construction machineries (Caterpillar excavators, various machines, home and garden equipment, etc.);
  • legal: agreements, criminal complaints, various legal materials from criminal files, notarial documents, summons: English-Romanian, Romanian-English,
  • general: diplomas, birth certificates, fiscal registration certificates),
  • medical: general – certificates, interviews for launching various medications, such as NICORETTE,
  • financial,
  • IT and telecommunications,
  • games websites Various materials about pollution and the environment, which amounted to more than 1,000 pages for the National E.P.A. Website.

May 2006 – 1st March 2007: Assistant Manager at S.C. MONDOPACK S.R.L., whose main activity is the production and import of machinery. She also translated the company’s website and catalogue of products, from Romanian into English, as well as being in charge for the entire communication with the company’s collaborators abroad, via e-mails or online services. Here, she has translated many user’s manuals, especially for packaging machines, sensor operated sanitary products, as well as import-export documents, from English into Romanian.

2000 – 2002: Assistant Manager at S.C. Prestige Trading S.R.L. – Craiova, a well-known company at a national level. The main activity of this company was the distribution of consumer goods across the country. She was often required to translate specific materials from English and French into Romanian, especially in the commercial field, as well as providing interpreting services during the dialogues carried out with the foreign partners of the company.

1997 – 2000: Assistant Manager at S.C. GALIC PROD S.R.L. – Craiova. – the same as above

Interpreting Services:

  • commercial subjects;
  • meeting for a future collaboration between a Romanian trading company and a Czech one;
  • at various Notary Public Bureaus in Craiova;
  • at a conference hosted by an invitee from England. The latter discourse was run through 8 hours, before the participants from various localities in the Southern Romania. The subject discussed: getting Phare funds.

EDUCATION:

October 2004 – March 2005: “Universidade Nova de Lisboa”, Portugal. Erasmus student, where she also received a certificate for Portuguese.

2001 – 2005: University of Craiova, Faculty of Letters, the Translation – Interpretation Department

1992 – 1997: International high-school “Brockwood Park School”, Hampshire, U.K. Exams taken: GCSE and “A-level” (among others, also English language and literature – as native language – and French). Besides the academic classes taken there, she was also given the opportunity to study non-academic courses, such as dancing (for a period of two years), drama (for five years), philosophy etc. She has directed and was even involved as an actress in various plays (“A Midsummer’s Night Dream”, “Macbeth”, “The Sisterhood”, etc., thus thoroughly studying works signed by Shakespeare and not only) and dance or entertainment performances. She has also written multiple essays and poems (in English and/or French), many of them even being published in the school magazine, “The Brocwood Observer”, which is sent by mail all over the world. As it was an international school, there was the opportunity of communicating with one another, in a community where each had something interesting to offer, from a cultural point of view and not only. Teamwork was a challenge and an extraordinary way to learn and develop. The exchanges of backgrounds built-up in each one’s own country represented a good chance for improving general knowledge about the world we live in, free from the barriers of prejudice, as well as about various fields.

She also has other kinds of certificates from the exams passed in the UK, where she was on scholarship for five years.

2000: Also passed the baccalaureate exam in Romania.

1990 – 1992: “Fratii Buzesti” High-School of Craiova, the most prestigious high-school in the city.
